In my English 9 class we all created a story based off of Greek mythology and it had to include a life learning lesson as well, so here is my story below.

Apollo's Tragedy
Once upon a time… wait no, that’s cheesy. It was a dark and stormy night… nahh we’ve all heard that one before. It was just a rainy day… hmmm getting better. It was just a rainy day when Hermes, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Hades decided to go to Hermosa Beach after doing work for Zeus for several weeks. It seemed to be a relaxing day, but little did they know they had a surprise coming their way. While at Hermosa Beach, Apollo tried to impress Aphrodite with his powers, since Hermes told him that she was easily swayed by powerful men. Believing Hermes’ lies, he decided to use his power to change the weather from rain to sunshine in order to impress the girl of his dreams. Apollo started to show off more and more because Aphrodite told Apollo that she was burning up, but Apollo assumed that she was talking about blushing. However she meant she was burning from the sunlight which was from Apollo's “smooth and woeng powers”. Since Apollo was known for being the “perfect human”, the abnormal change of his powers was a shock to everyone. I guess you could say that things went downhill because of his love for Aphrodite. That night Hermes, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Hades all started peeling random parts of their bodies. It was almost as if they were all snakes in the skin peeling season. The day after that all of the ancient Greek gods were sunburned. Then they realized and knew exactly who did what when and where, but had no idea why. The next morning Aphrodite called Apollo, she asked him why he made the beach so hot, he was speechless. She said she really wanted to know, so he told her the reason why he made the beach burning hot. After he told Aphrodite she realized that he was just trying to impress her but it ended up going completely the other way around. They all realized that they need to be themselves and not to show off. In the end there skin healed quickly because their gods and they all went about their day.
